Carbon trust research shows that the use of a limited energy monitoring system can result in a 10 – 15% cut in fuel bills. Clearly, a comprehensive energy monitoring system can result in much greater savings.
There is direct linkage between energy reduction and cost reduction.
Typical pay back on an energy monitoring system is between 12 – 18 months.
The Carbon Reduction Commitment (which was recently renamed the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme) is a mandatory carbon emissions trading scheme to cover all organisations using more than 6,000MWh per year of electricity (equivalent to an annual electricity bill of about £500,000).

In addition, savings will also be made by a reduction in the climate change levy tax. This is charged at 0.470 pence per kilowatt hour (kWh) for electricity and 0.164 pence per kWh for gas.
